MAJ GEN ADEYEMI MORUFU ALABI (RTD)

Major General AM Alabi was born on 29 November 1965 and hails from Ibadan in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo State. He attended OkeBadan High School from 1977-1982 where he obtained West African School Certificate. He was admitted into the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) as a member of 38 Regular Combatant Course on 21 September 1986 and was commissioned on 21 September 1991 as a Second Lieutenant into the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC).

In the course of his career, Major General Alabi attended many courses and seminars/workshops both at home and abroad. The courses include Armament and Ammunition Officers Course Lagos 1995, Ordnance Executive Management Course 2008, Junior and Senior Staff Courses at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji in 2000 and 2004/2005 respectively and National Defence Course Abuja from 2012 -2013. The seminars/workshops attended by the senior officer include the First DHQ Procurement Seminar in 2015, Munition Safety Programme at Mali in 2017 and African Peer Review Mechanism at Abuja in February 2020 among others.

Major General AM Alabi obtained BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna 1990, Master in Environmental Management and Planning, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta 2008, and Master of Strategic Study (MSS) at the University of Ibadan in 2014. Currently, he is a PhD student at the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies in the Nigerian Defence Academy (PhD DSS in view). He has authored several unpublished papers being projects he conducted in the course of military career and academic pursuits. These include Training for War in Peace Time, Enhancing Security of Arms and Ammunition, and Waste to Wealth: What Economic Option. Others include Disposal of Electrical and Electronic Wastes in the Nigerian Army, Inter-Agency Cooperation and Counter Terrorism/Counter Insurgency Operations in the North East Nigeria: Challenges and Prospects for the Armed Forces of Nigeria and others.
